Cost Misconceptions

Misleading LASIK Topics

Be wary of doctors who only offer “One Price”.

A “One Price” model refers to pricing used by some LASIK surgeons regardless of the type of LASIK surgery (e.g., Traditional LASIK, Custom LASIK, IntraLase etc) your physician recommends. With LASIK Benefits USA, rest assured that you will only be charged for the services you receive. Be very cautious if your surgeon wants to charge your LASIK Cost with a “One Price” model.

My current vision plan says I can receive 15% off of my LASIK cost.

Many vision plans offer a specific discounted percentage off of the doctor's usual rates for LASIK. In addition, many plans do not monitor the LASIK costs their members are being charged. Very shortly the patient’s first question becomes, "Fifteen-percent off of what?" Some doctors inflate their LASIK price to compensate for the discount given, leaving you wondering if you received a price-break after all.

One very important feature of our plan is our set contracted pricing. We monitor and manage our Member's LASIK costs, leaving no room for a doctor to inflate the normal charge. Our savings are very real and you will never be left questioning the benefits you receive.

What about those ads I see for $499 LASIK?

Them: When doing comparison shopping it is important that you compare what's included in the LASIK cost and also who is eligible to receive LASIK at that price. A LASIK Advertisement stating LASIK at $499 per eye often treats only very low prescriptions, with little or no astigmatism. As the patient’s prescription increases, prices tend to increase as well. In addition, patients may only have access to specific lasers and each laser is manufactured to treat specific prescription ranges and pupil sizes. If your prescription or pupil size falls out of that range, you are automatically disqualified for LASIK at their advertised price..

Us: LASIK Benefits USA has set contracted prices for LASIK covering all prescription levels and all lasers.

Them: Some $499 LASIK centers have additional fees for the initial LASIK consultation and follow up care. In most cases the initial exam, post-operative visits and retreatment warranty are not included in their price.

Us: Your LASIK cost includes a free comprehensive eye exam, the LASIK Laser Eye Surgery, your post-operative appointments and also a one-year retreatment warranty.

Them: Many LASIK Centers require deposits that are non-refundable. Some will refund the deposit if a person is not medically qualified for LASIK. If the deposit is not refunded in full, it is because the LASIK Center typically keeps a portion to cover their cost for the eye exam.

Us: LASIK Benefits USA deposits are fully refundable even if you decide not to go forward with LASIK Laser Eye Surgery. Whatever your reason call us and we will refund 100% of your deposit . Due to certain limitations, some locations may require an additional non-refundable deposit. This will be explained by your LASIK counselor prior to setting the appointment and noted in writing on your email appointment confirmation. Any additional deposits are payable to the participating provider and they are applied to your total cost of the procedure.

Them: It is important to check the qualifications of the doctor who will be performing LASIK Laser Eye Surgery on your eyes. Please make sure that the LASIK Doctor has been credentialed by an impartial third party service.

Us: In addition to credentialing our doctors, we make sure that they use only FDA approved lasers. We thoroughly check all of our doctors because our priority is to ensure that you get quality patient care.
